AquaSquad Has Grown

We Heard You. Now There's a Path for Every Family.

Many families can't commit to survival lessons three days a week but still want real progress and strong water safety skills. So we built flexible lesson options that fit busy schedules, while still putting water safety and water competency first.

🛟

We teach self-rescue first and strokes second.

Every AquaSquad program is built on survival swim principles. Whatever format a family chooses, swimmers build strong water competency and safety skills first, then progress to swimming and stroke development.

🛡️

Safety Is the Foundation

As certified survival swim instructors, water safety is the base of every program we offer, from first floats to full strokes.

📅

Flexible Formats

Private, small group, sibling and friend, stroke development, and adult lessons. Real progress without a one-size-fits-all schedule.

🏡

We Can Come to You

With mobile learn-to-swim lessons, we bring instruction to your home or community pool. Convenient for families on the go.

👶

For children age 3 and under, we strongly recommend beginning with our Survival Swim program whenever possible. It's the fastest path to life-saving swim-float-swim skills during the years when drowning risk is highest.

Meet the Instructor

Hi, I'm Becca, The Heart Behind AquaSquad

If you're here, you're probably a parent looking for someone you can truly trust with your child around the water. As a mom of three, I want you to know I take that responsibility to heart.

Before stepping onto the pool deck, I spent over a decade in the classroom. My background in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education shapes every lesson, making sure instruction is developmentally appropriate, intentional, and kind.

"You deserve to feel completely confident, informed, and supported every step of the way. You're part of the Squad now."

From a Fellow Instructor

"Her techniques have been a total game changer for my teaching. My students are floating and self-rescuing more efficiently and confidently than ever before. Becca shares skills that many instructors keep to themselves, and she does it with so much clarity and heart. She's an expert at her craft."

Why Most Swim Lessons Fall Short

Your Child May Already Have Lessons. This Is Different.

Most programs teach strokes first. AquaSquad teaches survival first, then strokes.

What most programs do

Familiar. But Not Enough.

  • Teach strokes and gliding, not survival responses
  • Once-a-week group classes that don't build reliable muscle memory
  • Summer camps with no year-round reinforcement
  • Floaties and puddle jumpers that create dependency, not real skill
  • Large classes where your child is one of many
  • No plan when something unexpected happens in the water
What AquaSquad does

Built for Real Life. Not Just Lessons.

  • Self-rescue first: roll, float, breathe, swim to safety. Strokes come second.
  • Water safety and competency are the foundation of every lesson format
  • Flexible formats: survival, private, small group, mobile, and adult lessons
  • Zero dependency on floaties. Swimmers learn to trust themselves
  • Taught by trained professionals, never a random seasonal hire
  • Swimmers leave knowing exactly what to do if they fall in unexpectedly

The risk isn't that your child can't swim. It's that when something unexpected happens, they don't know what to do. That's the gap AquaSquad closes.

The AquaSquad Difference

Trained Professionals, Not Summer Help

Not all swim lessons are created equal. At AquaSquad, our instructors aren't just passionate, they're highly qualified professionals committed to drowning prevention and water safety.

Teaching swimming isn't a summer job for our team. It's their career and their purpose.

🎯
Carefully selected, extensively trained Every instructor is chosen for skill, judgment, and a genuine love of teaching children.
🤝
Never a random instructor Every team member holds high-level swim instruction certifications and is committed to ongoing education.
💙
One shared mission Water safety, drowning prevention, and a lasting, positive relationship with the water for every child we teach.

Survival Swim lessons are taught by Becca personally, at our pool.

Common Questions

Everything You Want to Know Before You Reach Out

We get these questions often. Here are honest, straightforward answers.

Yes. AquaSquad is now a full-service swim school. Alongside Survival Swim, we offer private learn-to-swim and stroke development, mobile lessons, small group and sibling/friend lessons, and adult lessons, with Parent & Me classes coming soon. Every program is built on survival swim principles: we teach self-rescue first and strokes second.
Yes. With our Mobile Learn-to-Swim lessons we bring instruction to your home or community pool. Mobile pricing matches our standard lesson packages, and availability depends on your location, so reach out to confirm we can come to you. Note that Survival Swim is taught by Becca at our pool only.
Yes. AquaSquad Swim is an approved Step Up for Students Direct Provider. Eligible families may use scholarship funds toward qualifying programs. Contact us and we'll walk you through how to apply your funds.
Yes. A one-time, non-refundable $100 registration fee applies to all programs. After that, you only pay for your lessons, whether weekly, by package, or through a monthly membership.
Crying is communication, and it's completely normal when your child is experiencing something new. My goal is never to push a child into fear. We move at their pace, build trust first, and celebrate every win. As their confidence grows, crying fades… and pride takes over. Joy always follows confidence.
If your child isn't potty trained, they must wear a 2-ply system: a reusable swim diaper plus a vinyl or plastic cover. Disposable swim diapers alone don't seal properly. Please bring two towels to every session.
Yes! Children grow so quickly, and their changing body composition affects their buoyancy. Skills don't disappear, but growing bodies need updated practice. I recommend refreshers every 4 to 6 months for children under 5, and yearly (or skill-expansion lessons) for children over 5.
Not with AquaSquad's approach. I prioritize emotional safety, sensory-motor readiness, positive reinforcement, trust, and consistency. Children learn that they can do it, and that builds real joy and confidence in the water. My goal is for every child to leave loving the water.
Please avoid: food for 1 hour before lessons, dairy for 90 to 120 minutes before, and apples, pears, peaches, mango, pineapple, or kiwi for 48 hours before. These foods can cause gas and discomfort, which affects floating and breath control. Comfort = confidence.
No. Consistency is the key to this program working. If you need to cancel, I'll reschedule or give you credit. If I ever cancel a session, I'll always make it up.
Yes! You'll watch from the parent area for most of the program. As your child approaches their Level Up milestone, I'll bring you into the water so you feel connected, confident, and ready to safely support your swimmer. We're a team in this.
Not during the survival swim phase. Shallow-water play and floaties can undo the survival motor patterns we're building. After your child Levels Up, I'll show you exactly how to practice safely and confidently so you can keep those skills strong.
After Level Up, your swimmer can continue with: maintenance lessons, refresher sessions, one-on-one 30-minute learn-to-swim, group lessons (for ages 3 to 5 graduates or 5+), Parent & Me (ages 3 and under), or adult lessons. There's always a next step. We grow with your family.
Survival Swim is billed weekly. Private, mobile, and adult lessons can be paid as single lessons, prepaid packages, or a monthly membership. Memberships require a monthly commitment and a 7-day cancellation notice. I accept Stripe (all major credit and debit cards) or cash. A one-time, non-refundable $100 registration fee applies to all programs.
Survival Swim (6 months to 6 years): 15-minute private lessons, 3 days a week, taught by Becca at our pool. Builds the automatic response: roll, float, breathe, swim to safety. Most complete in 6 to 8 weeks. This is the foundation.

Private Lessons (Ages 4+): One-on-one learn-to-swim and stroke development. Technique, endurance, and water confidence built on a safety-first foundation.

Mobile Learn-to-Swim (All ages): The same lessons delivered to your home or community pool. Availability depends on location.

Small Group, Sibling & Friend (Ages 3+): Discounted per-swimmer rates for siblings, friends, homeschool, and neighborhood groups. Contact us for custom pricing.

Adult Swim Lessons (18+): Private sessions for beginner adults. We start exactly where you are.

Parent & Me (Coming Soon): A gentle, bonding introduction to water safety for our youngest swimmers.
Here's exactly how it works: 1. Reach out first: contact me to check availability and make sure AquaSquad is the right fit for your family. 2. Get confirmed: once I confirm a spot for you, I'll let you know. If I'm full, I'll add you to the waitlist and reach out when a spot opens. 3. Register and pay: complete registration and submit payment once your spot is confirmed. 4. I'll reach out: I'll contact you with your schedule, lesson plan, and everything you need to know before day one.
